Every wedding is special in its own way, but there’s something extra-magical about winter weddings. The chilly weather was no obstacle to love when Suzie and Simon tied the knot on a misty January day in Surrey. From the blush Needle & Thread gown to the Cartier jewellery and Dior shoes, this dreamy winter wedding was romantic, elegant, and unforgettable. Let’s take a closer look at how this couple said “I do”!
Getting Ready
The beautiful Woodcote Park, home of the Royal Automobile Club in Surrey, served as the reception venue for Suzie and Simon’s wedding. Nestled among lush gardens and rolling hills, it was also where Suzie got ready with her bridesmaids that misty morning. Wearing a stunning blush graduated gown from Needle & Thread with a complimenting veil from the amazing W Collective, Suzie added a fur stole for extra warmth along with those stunning Dior heels and her beautifully unique Cartier jewellery set.
The "boys" got ready at a separate hotel where my lovely second photographer Alex joined them to capture their side of the story. Complete with traditional morning suits the gentleman all looked incredibly dapper for the big day ahead!
Love in the Cold Weather.
Even though the temperature was chilly, the winter sunshine made it an even more beautiful day for a wedding! With an armful of peach and blush roses—paired with eucalyptus, astilbe and seasonal hellebores, Suzie looked stunning as she arrived at the church.
Meanwhile, in the church, their beautiful dog Pixie was waiting for Suzie along with all their wonderful friends and family. As Suzie came down the aisle, Simon's face lit up and we were so happy to capture that moment for them forever.
After their traditional Church ceremony everyone joined us outside for confetti throwing before Suzie and Simon slipped into their elegant Rolls Royce to be taken back to Woodcote Park.
After saying goodbye to Pixie, they arrived back in style in their stunning Rolls Royce and braved the cold for some formal photos before heading in to celebrate with their friends and family at a candlelit dinner reception in the stunning ballroom at Woodcote Park
Once everyone was warmed up, fed and watered it was time for some wonderfully emotional speeches, including a speech by Suzie herself! The stunning candlelight in the ballroom made it feel beautifully intimate despite the grandness of the room.
A quick walk around the grounds to keep warm was all that was needed to capture stunning couple portraits for Suzie and Simon. As always its my belief that you don't need a summer garden full of flowers to create beautiful images and these are definately proof of that!
To top off their special day, they danced together while indoor fireworks lit up the dancefloor!
Suzie and Simon’s romantic winter wedding was truly one for the books. From the perfect venue to Suzie’s lovely outfit choice (not to mention her gorgeous bouquet!), it was an unforgettable celebration of love that had us all feeling warm despite the cold weather outside!
