Well, after weeks of snow, ice, hail and rain and an ominous looking forecast of yes, more rain and thunderstorms, I set off on a Sunday morning in the direction of the beautiful Swan Hotel in Bibury..............in sunshine! Officially declaring Patrice and Stephen the luckiest bride and groom ever, someone was truly looking down on them yesterday as the sun shone and the rain held off!
The bridal suite at The Swan Hotel in Bibury is truly magnificent! And the housekeeping team go to such effort to make sure everything is perfect for their wedding couples. Owned by the Cotswold Inn group of hotels, I regularly shoot at their sister hotel (The Manor House Hotel, Moreton in Marsh) and since it is one of my favourite venues, The Swan had big shoes to fill! They certainly didn't disappoint and Marsha, The Swan's wedding planner was just lovely, and ensured everything ran like clockwork.
Patrice's dress was stunning! A timeless satin gown by Phil Collins Bridal which she found at the exquisite Mae Bridal Boutique in Witney. Mae Bridal also helped Patrice realise her dress dreams and their talented seamstresses made sure she had a bespoke dress with unique additions and a hand embellished full length veil.
Bibury village provides some great photo opportunities and this one in particular was one that Patrice & Stephen had their heart set on - although I did have to stand on a three way road junction to achieve this shot! I think you will agree it was worth it...........must remember to take a high vis vest for future weddings!
The Swan Hotel is elegant and formal without being stuffy or pretentious. A true Cotswolds gem with quirky paintings sitting in the same view as grand chandeliers, making for a modern edge to a very traditional Cotswold building - and don't forget to keep spotting the swans as you go into each room!
The ceremony was lovely, with added special vows between the bride and groom and provided everything a wedding should, laughter, love, tears and pride......... here are just a few key moments. Including a high five on the way out!
